So Much to Do....So Little Time

The Beach Boys may have sung about "Endless Summer", but the truth is that summers are short in this neck of the woods. Right about the time you finish making your plans, summer is over and the kids are back in school. The good thing is that with over 300 days of sunshine annually, you can still enjoy the great outdoors in Casper even if it is a little on the cool side.

Come to Casper and check out a Rockies game - there are two long homestands during August - the 2nd through the 8th and the 16th through the 22nd. While you`re here, why not float the river?

Around Casper
While hundreds of bikers pass through Casper on their way to the annual Bikers Ralley in Sturgis, SD, Kid Rock appears at the Casper Events Center on August 13th followed by Larry the Cable Guy on the 14th - what a combo! Daredevils Mudbog on the 8-9th at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds is a must-see.

Painted Past Enterprises continues to present candlelight walking tours of historic dowtown Casper.

Andy Warhol at the "Nic"
Andy Warhol s Dream America comes to the Nicolaysen Museum this August from The Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation s extensive collection of Andy Warhol and Pop Art works. The show is a traveling exhibit of 88 pieces of Warhol`s work, including complete portfolios of Campbell s Soup I, Mao, Marilyn, Mick Jagger, Cowboys and Indians, and much more.

The work spans most of Warhol s career, beginning with the "Marilyn" series, which was completed in 1967, through the "Cowboys and Indians" series from 1986. The show opens a two-year, seven-city run in Billings, MT before the Casper leg of the tour, and provides a rare opportunity for people to view an extensive collection of Warhol`s work. Unlike other Warhol exhibits, Dream America includes complete print portfolios or suites of some of his most well-known works.

Skip the National Chains!
Choose from two restaurants inside the hotel including the Parkway Cafe, which offers full fare, accommodating even the most eclectic tastes and PB`s Fish Factory featuring mouth-watering fish and seafood delicacies such as catfish, sole, crab and stuffed shrimp.

Also, two very special places that greatly surpass the fare and ambiance of national chains are part of the Parkway family and very near the hotel. Poor Boy’s Steakhouse, the finest steakhouse in Casper, is right around the corner from the hotel and the world-famous Wonder Bar is just a few blocks down Center Street. Loosen your tie, wet your lips, and dig in to Wyoming’s best-kept secrets to fine dining.
