Opportunities Galore!

Summer is in full swing with an abundance of events going on in the region. Start with the 65th Annual Black Hills Motor Cycle Rally that runs from August 8th through the 14th (those are the official dates, there are events going on up there starting August 1st.) We`re an easy day`s drive from Sturgis and you won`t find a more biker-friendly hotel on your way to the Black Hills than the Parkway Plaza. Not only do we offer a fantastic discount rate for our biker friends, we do our absolute best to provide a "room with a view" where you can keep a close eye on your bike.

Right here in town, you`ll be able to see Allison Krauss and Union Station, Bill Engvall, and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus all appearing at the Casper Events Center in August. Also, Willie Nelson appears at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds in September and Motley Crue will be at the Events Center in October. Reserve your room now!

Out of the Frying Pan...

...and into the Parkway Plaza.

Well, you know by now that Poor Boys Steakhouse suffered an unfortunate fire in early July and has set up temporary shop back at the Parkway Plaza where it started out ten years ago. You don`t have to miss out on the "Buckboard Bonanza" monthly special or any of the rest of the fantastic food you`ve come to expect at Poor Boys.

There are fewer seats, so you may want to get here early, and don`t forget to come in to "All that Jazz" for starters. Call 235-1777 after 4 pm. for reservations. Poor Boys is expected to re-open across the highway in 3-4 weeks.

If you enjoy a great round of miniature golf, then Old Town is a must to do while in Casper! Located right behind the hotel on the River Walk, Old Town is open daily from 11a.m. to 10p.m. weather permitting. Inside, we have a great snack bar with hand-dipped ice cream, frozen custard, sub sandwiches and lots more. Don`t miss the 24` climbing wall along with the great video arcade for kids of all ages. Stop on out and take a look for yourself. We know you`ll agree that it`s a "Hole in One"!

Employee of the Month

Our August Employee of the Month is Norm Newsome from our security department. Norm has been with us since August of 2004, and when he isn`t patrolling the halls or driving the Parkway Shuttle, he is busy being a daddy to his new son Tru, who was born in May. Norm`s hobbies also include outdoor sports and spending time with his family.

If you see Norm out and about make sure you congratulate him on a job well done. Thanks, Norm!!
